In Riesesch Haus zu Eessingen saßen eines Abends die Knechte und Taglöhner ans der Siedet und plauderten zusammen. Plötzlich stand dicht vor ihnen am Gußsteine ein wunderschönes Fräulein, deren lange, goldene Haarlocken weit über den Rucken herabwallten. Nachdem sie Wasser geschöpft, begann sie sich zu waschen, gleich als ob sie eben vom Schlafe erwacht sei. Darauf zog sie unter den Falten ihres schneeweißen Mantels einen silberblanken Kamm hervor, kämmte und ordnete das Haar und wand die langgeflochtenen Zöpfe zierlich um den Kops. Sodann verschwand die seltsame Erscheinung durch die Gußsteinrinne und wurde nie wieder gesehen. Lehrer Konert zu Hollerich

Das Platschmrechen in dem Mühlbach

In dem zwischen Mutsort und Eontern gelegenen Mühlbachthälchen läßt sich zuweilen nachts bald an der Syr bald an dem Mühlbach ein Klatschen wie das eines Blänels hören. Es ist das Platschmrechen (Platschmariechen), eine geisterhafte Wäscherin, von der man sich behutsam ferne halten soll. Will nian sich ihr nähern, um sie zu beobachten, so ist sie plötzlich verschwunden. Auch scheint es manchmal ihre Lust zu sein, die Neugierigen zu necken. Sitzt sie an der Syr, und mall will in ihre Nübe schleichen, so läßt sich plötzlich das Klatschen an dem Mühlbach vernehmen; und eilt man dann all den Mühlbach, so wird es schnell wieder an die eine oder die andere Stelle der Syr versetzt. Die tote Frau

Es war im Jahre 1443, als unweit Weimerskirch auf einem dem Grünewald benachbarten Berge Elisabeth von Görlitz alle ihre Rechte, die sie als Psandinhaberin des Herzogtums Luxemburg auf dasselbe hatte, an Philipp den Guten von Burgund abtrat. Es geschah das nach der landesüblichen Weise. Seit jenem Tage heißt der Berg, auf dem die Zeremonie vollzogen wurde, die tote Frau, weil Elisabeth, nach dieser Verzichtleistung, hinsichtlich ihrer Hoheitsrechte nun rechtlich tot war. Nach anderen soll Elisabeth dort ihre Hoheitsrechte an den Herzog verkauft haben. Nachdem der Verkauf geschlossen, sei ein Greis mit einer Hotte Holz aus dem Walde gekommen, sei vor die hohe Frau hingetreten und habe mit kräftiger Hand ein Scheit auf das daliegende Gold geworfen mit den Worten: „Dies für die tote Frau!" Seit dieser Zeit war es Brauch, daß jeder, der mit einer Hotte Holz aus diesem Walde kam, ein Scheit an dieser Stelle zur Erde warf, indem er sagte: „Dies für die tote Frau!"
